WALT: Conduct an interview using open-ended questions.
TASK:
You are going to interview one of your classmates to find out what they did during their school holidays.
Try to use as many open-ended questions as you can to ensure that you are getting full responses and finding out as much information as possible. Closed Questions can be answered using one or two words or a short phrase. Open Questions require more thought and a more detailed, lengthy response.
1. Compile your interview questions in you Binder Book. Do not show the person you are interviewing these questions, they will need to answer them on the spot during the interview.
2. Construct and record your interview using Garageband. When you are interviewing you can improvise and change your questions to relate to a response that the person has provided.
3. Save and export your podcast to iWeb - Listen To Me. Write a description of the task and what you enjoyed, learnt etc. Through completing this task.

Melbourne Zoo Visit
WALT: Plan events during a day by using a timetable.
Your parents have decided to take you and your family to Melbourne Zoo for the day. You are able to invite up to 5 friends to join you on your adventure.
You will need to view the map of the zoo and the list of attractions under the ‘Planning Your Visit’ link before you begin planning your day.
TASK: Plan your day visit to the Melbourne Zoo.
You must:
Provide a schedule from the beginning to the end of your day at the zoo.
Timetable in times for toilet breaks and lunch / food stops.
Schedule times to visit various attractions.
Allow enough time to observe and enjoy each exhibit.
Provide cost of entry for all people attending.
WALT: Record previous events in the form of a written recount.
TASK: Once you have completed your daily timetable visit to the Melbourne Zoo you will need to write an imaginary recount of your day. Use your timetable to allow you to sequence your events into a written text.
Creative Narrative

You are going to write a narrative that must use the three components listed below.
Who (Character):Flying Monkey named Stuart
Where (Setting): Pirate Ship
What (Problem): An explosion
You can include as many additional components to your story as you like but you must include the three shown above.
You will have set time constraints that you must stick to when compiling this text.
You will be given:
5 minutes to plan.
45 minutes to write your text.
5 minutes to proof read and edit your work.
5 minutes for a partner to proof read and edit your work.
40 minutes to publish a finished piece.
Remember that you can alter your text from the draft to the final stage by adding or excluding some aspects. It does not have to be copied out word for word.
When you have finished this activity your plans, drafts and finished pieces will be collected for assessment.
